First...let's understand the goal of the system. The purpose of open play is to mix players of various skills. This event is more social than competitive. We want to foster community here. We want the more experienced players to get to know the newer players and help them along. We want the newer players to know they have a place that they can come play against better players and not feel like they're holding them back. It's open play...it's all about fun, so leave your reservations and your ego at the gate and just come play for fun!!!
Bylaw Amendment for Fiscal Year Change Voting is Open

PROPOSED BYLAWS AMENDMENT TO CHANGE THE FISCAL YEAR OF THE SLPCC TO JULY 1 – JUNE 30
Electronic voting on the proposal will be open for two weeks after the meeting. The SLPCC board recommends a ‘yes’ vote so our year end does not fall right in the middle of our busy season.

The Rating Committee announced on September 18th that the much-anticipated update to the Rating Process was in place.
Today, we are excited to announce that the Rerating Info and Request page has been reopened for all members that meet the Rating Process criteria.

The fall pickleball season at SLPCC is just around the corner and the snowbirds are packing up and returning to Sun Lakes. Everyone is looking forward to the coming season. As we move forward with some of the late season changes from last year, we hope to clarify some of the confusion that has been developing during the summer. The adoption of DUPR as our rating system is still in its infancy within our club and overall, that is a good thing as DUPR has made some great changes to their algorithm which will benefit everyone within the club and will minimize some of the confusion moving forward.

The SLPCC board of directors, after extensive research, has adopted DUPR to assist with ratings. It will become another tool to assist in providing members with objective rating measures.
